The Burns Lane Residents Alliance (BLRA) was established in 2017 to give voice to resident’s concerns about the character and future of the neighborhood.
Our mission is to:
- Foster a sense of community among all who own property and live in the Burns Lane Neighborhood,
- Ensure a safe community for all who live, walk, bicycle and play on these streets,
- Maintain the character and aesthetic beauty of the neighborhood by maintaining property, homes and streets,
- Ensure the quality of life that residents reasonably expect to enjoy by promoting neighborly respect for, outreach to, and care of each other,
- Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with other neighborhoods and the City of Williamsburg as a whole, including representation of the Burns Lane Neighborhood in the Neighborhood Council of Williamsburg(NCW),
- Maintain a mutually respectful relationship with the William and MaryCollege community, including collaboration with the NeighborhoodRelations Committee (NRC),
- Serve as the conduit for communication and feedback with City and College officials, as well as among residents, and
- Respect and abide by state and local laws.
